Daventry Shoppers Donate £767

rnli-daventryA crew of local RNLI volunteers collected in Daventry town centre on Friday 25th and Saturday 26TH September, receiving donations of £767.70 from Daventry shoppers.

Jeff Sutherland-Kay, chair of the RNLI’s Northampton branch, said “We hold a town centre flag day every year about this time and we always get a great welcome from the people of Daventry. The collection brings the total donated at our Daventry events this year to £1,807 in what looks like being a record year for the RNLI’s Northampton branch.”

Evergreen Art Café in Sheaf Street again hosted the RNLI headquarters for the flag collection. Jeff continued: “The staff at the Evergreen are great supporters of the RNLI, allowing part of the art gallery to be used as a counting house and keeping us supplied with coffee. They always help to make our town centre collection run smoothly.”
