RNLI Golfers raise £2,500

The Northampton branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution has been holding an annual golf day for 12 years, with this year’s event taking place on 4th July at Northampton Golf Club. The golf day attracted teams from all round the Midlands, raising over £2,500.

Mike Alcock, chair of the RNLI’s Northampton branch, said “Our annual golf day is a must-do event for increasing numbers of golfers and they come from far and wide to play. We had entries this year from 20 teams. The winners were a team from Witchford Golf Society, with the runners-up a team led by Northampton Golf Club Ladies Captain Liz Mulliner.

“We couldn’t put on a successful event like this, though, without the support of our sponsors. We are particularly grateful to Shoosmiths, Maple Hollow Estates, DBfB Communications, Sutherland Strategy, Dodson & Horrell, Aspiration and Station View Dental Suite for making it all possible. The super weather helped as well!”
